Mysuru: World famous Mysuru Dasara 2016 is fast approaching and there are doubts rising among the people on the ability of the new team in organizing an event of great importance successfully with lack of experience.
The latest series of transfers and changes in district administration has fuelled doubts in the minds of people, giving critics a great opportunity to fire salvos at a time when a drought like situation is prevailing in most parts of the state.
The government wants to have a balanced Dasara being aware of the difficult situation, but at the same time intends to retain the popularity with a series of good programs. Elephants have already started marching towards the place where all other arrangements are going on at a snail’s pace.
Everyone is aware of the changes in the officialdom where Deputy Commissioner Randeep replaced experienced Shihka who managed Dasara under her leadership for 3 years. Now even the Mysuru city corporation commissioner has retired. To make matters worse, district in-charge minister HC Mahadevappa and new district superintendent of police Ravi D Channnavar have no previous experience in organsing Dasara. Mysuru Zoo director Karikalan, Zilla Panchyath CEO P Shivashankar, Assistant director of Kannada and culture department S Chennppa and City Corporation (in-charge) Mahesh are all new entrants.
Critics feel it will be very tough for the new team to put up an excellent show in short time with arrangements moving at a very slow pace.
Will the new team excel and prove critics wrong or will the glory fade away is the question doing rounds right now.
