Mysuru: The tableaux representing the specialty of each district of the state is all set to ‘entertain’ and ‘inform’ visitors as the days of world famous “Jambu Savari”, centre of attraction of the Mysuru Dasara Vijayadashami procession, inches closer.
Speaking to the press, tableaux sub-committee president Murali said, “This time for the ‘Jambu Savari’, a total of 39 tableaux will display the cultures and traditions of different districts.”
“The tableaux participating in the Mysuru Dasara procession will be special. Topics like art and culture, sculptures, environment, floods and drought, Indian Constitution and many more will be presented. The tableaux are already getting ready in the APMC Grounds. We have finalised 39 tableaux so as not to disturb the Jambu Savari,” he added.
Theme for this years’ tableaux, according to the districts will be – Belagavi – Floods situation in the district, Bagalkot – floods and rehabilitation facilities, Dharwad – cultural extravaganza, Haveri – poet Kanaka Das blowing the conch, Gadag – Beti Padao Beti Bachao, Uttara Kannada – Banavasi Madhukeshwara Temple of the Kadamba times, Vijaypura – Father of Vachanas Dr. Phakirappa Gurubasappa Halakatti, Bengaluru city – Chandrayaan 2, Bengaluru Rural – Swaccha Kadege Namma Nadige, Chitradurga – Women achievers and female foeticide, Davangere – Airstrike, Kolar – Antara Gange, Shivamogga – Fit India, Tumakuru – Wholesome crop cultivation system and Late Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt, Ramanagar – Krishna Temple of Ambegalu, Chikkaballapur – Silk and freedom fighter H Narasimaiah, Kalaburgi – Ayushman Bharat, Ballari – Hampi sculptors and grandeur, Bidar – Fasal Bima Yojana, Koppal – Gavisiddeshwara Betta, Raichur – Googal Bridge, NREGA and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, Yadgir – Ambigara Chowdaiya, Mysuru – Chamaraja Wadiyar’s 100-year success, Chamarajanagar – Tiger reserve, Chikkamagaluru – Shishila Hills, Dakshina Kannada – Mangaladevi and India’s largest petroleum unit, Hassan – Yettinahole project, Kodagu – Awareness of land slides, Mandya – Sri Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Udupi – Sri Krishna Mutt gopuram.
