Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar visited the Dasara Exhibition Grounds on Monday to review the ongoing construction of the Unity Mall, a flagship project funded by the Union government under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. Located opposite Mysuru Palace, the project spans 6.5 acres and is being developed by the Karnataka State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) at a cost of ₹192.99 crore. Wadiyar was accompanied by Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa and senior KSIDC engineers.

The Indo-Saracenic-style mall, inspired by Delhi Haat, is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. It aims to showcase and promote the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of Karnataka and India. The facility will house 99 stalls across four levels, displaying handicrafts and products from all 31 districts of Karnataka and various states and union territories. These will include Mysuru’s famed sandalwood and silk, GI-tagged items like Mysuru jasmine, betel nut, rasabale banana, and Mysuru Pak.

The three-storey complex will feature a grand entrance, skywalk, a 3D IMAX theatre, food court, kids’ play area, wrestling pavilion, and commercial units. It will also include a bar and restaurant, mall office, prayer space, multipurpose theatres, art galleries, and gaming zones.

Wadiyar emphasized that the Unity Mall will serve as a cultural landmark and a platform to encourage artisans, promote tourism, and generate employment. Similar malls are also planned in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
