Mysuru: Former chief minister and CLP leader Siddaramaiah has said that he would not bow down to any statement made against his way of functioning and that he would not react to any such comments.

Addressing a gathering at the inaugural event of the Nrupatunga Science and Commerce Pre University College, he criticized Congress leader Roshan Baig’s for calling him ‘arrogant’ and said, “I am accused of being arrogant. Yes I am one, because I come from old school background and I am straight forward. Because of this nature, some people consider me an arrogant person. People with self-esteem like my words and who don’t have it, will not like.”

Siddaramaiah explained some of the societal behaviours to the students by saying, “The economically backward sections and backward class people are always treated like slaves. To abolish this, you all must inculcate the quality of self-esteem.”

“To bring in change in society and mindset of the people, I implemented Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Inhuman Evil Practices and Black Magic Bill, 2017 which is also known as Karnataka Anti-Superstition Bill, for which some termed me anti-Hindu and anti-Lingayat”, he added.

Earlier, senior Congress leader Roshan Baig had termed Siddramaiah as arrogant and had blamed him for the downfall of the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition government.
