Forest officials successfully saved a tiger that had fallen into an abandoned cow dung gas well in Bidugalu village, Saraguru taluk.
The incident occurred when a six-month-old male tiger slipped into the old well on the property of a local resident named Naveen. Alert villagers quickly informed the Forest Department about the trapped animal.
Responding promptly, the Special Tiger Conservation Squad and Forest Department teams reached the location. Officers safely sedated the tiger with tranquilizers before pulling it out of the narrow pit.
Officials confirmed the young tiger was in good health after the ordeal. It has now been transferred to the Coorgalli Rehabilitation Center in Mysuru for further care and observation.
Forest authorities praised the villagers’ timely alert and the coordinated efforts of all rescue personnel involved in the operation.
