Mysuru: A youth was subjected to torture by a contractor for stealing the mobile phone at a construction site last night.
The youth who was caught red-handed by the labour contractor while stealing the mobile was hung upside for long hours during night and then tortured.
The incident took place in an under construction building of Friendly motors on RTO road, adjacent to Lakshmipuram police station.
When media personnel arrived to capture the images, the labour contractor whisked away the youth on his bike to an unknown location.
The inaction of the Lakshmipuram police to collect details of the incident for investigation has baffled many, despite the inhuman treatment meted to youth by the building contractor.
