Mysuru: Alleging that the Executive Director of the Mysore Zoo, B P Ravi, did not cooperate with the regulating body constituted by the state government, the Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) Chairperson Rehana Banu, said that he has the ignored government system itself, not a government body. “I have informed the secretary in this regard”, she added.

Elaborating on this, she said, “Since my appointment as the Chairperson of ZAK, no communication has been received by me. I have been frequently asking details on developmental work that is taking place under the Master Plan but of no use. In these eight months I have sent 8 notices and a show case has also been issued. This apart, warning him with regard to his autocratic behaviour, we had issued resolutions during the General body meeting of ZAK”.

She alleged, “Hiding his work from me, he has divided lump sum contract works into several parts to get commission and has okayed it with his power. The work should have been completed in the month of March but till today it is unfinished and now these are saying that the unfinished work will be inaugurated by the minister. The work here need at least two months to be completed but this has been done in a hurry by adding old material to finish off so that I will not have a chance to enquire about the work once the minister gives it a green signal.”

“Mysuru Zoo and Bannerghatta are the two Zoo that are generating a good revenue but the Executive Directors here are not co-operative at all. He has sent an invitation yesterday just for the sake of it. I suspect that this arrogance of his might be because I am from a minority community. I have been silent for so many days but his arrogance has reached above a point because of which I am before the media. I will be not attending the programme that is taking place on 26th August as this has taken place only with the interest ofthe Executive Director,” she asserted.

She also added that she will be filing a complaint to the Minority Committee for the intolerant behaviour of B P Ravi.
