The recently concluded National Lok Adalat in Ramanagara district has successfully resolved 1,49,485 cases through mediation across 19 benches, including courts in Ramanagara, Channapatna, Kanakapura, and Magadi.

According to a statement released by the National Lok Adalat, out of the 54,000 pending cases, 3,026 cases were settled, along with 1,46,459 pre-litigation cases. The total amount recovered through these settlements reached ₹202 crore.

The Lok Adalat, organized under the aegis of the National and State Legal Services Authority, focused on cases that could be resolved through mutual agreement. Various courts across the district participated in hearing these cases.

The event was led by G.D. Mahavarkar, Principal District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority. Numerous judges and lawyers took part in the proceedings.

The Lok Adalat addressed a wide range of cases, including:

  • 67 cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act (NI Act)
  • 17 loan recovery cases
  • 67 motor vehicle accident cases
  • 10 labour dispute cases
  • 7 mining and geology cases
  • 2 matrimonial cases
  • 51 property partition cases
  • 1 final decree execution case
  • 15 execution cases
  • 38 declaration of rights cases
  • 95 cases related to birth and death certificates
  • 2,541 small claims cases
  • 7 other criminal cases
  • 13 bank litigation cases
  • 3 cases related to CrPC 125
  • 1,46,459 pre-litigation cases

This Lok Adalat has proven to be an effective means of reducing the backlog in the judicial system while providing swift justice to the citizens of Ramanagara district.
