Ankola; On Friday, a tanker transporting sulfuric acid overturned on National Highway-69 near Kanchinabagila in Ankola taluk. The vehicle was en route from Andhra Pradesh to Goa when the driver lost control, resulting in the tanker overturning and spilling approximately 30 tons of sulfuric acid.

The spill caused hazardous fumes to leak into a nearby drain. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was attended to, while the fire brigade was dispatched to manage the situation. The emergency response team quickly contained the acid spill and prevented further contamination. The hazardous material was safely disposed of, and the area was cleared to ensure safety.
