Hubbballi: The father of Neha Hiremath, Niranjan Hiremath, has suspected that Love Jihad is spreading widely. Speaking to reporters before her funeral, Hiremath said, “ I should not say this, but Love Jihad is spreading very widely.” These kinds of incidents are happening, and we witnessed them. I lost my daughter, tomorrow some poor man’s daughter should not suffer this.”
Hiremath said he had only one daughter and a son, and she grew up in the family with the utmost love. “It is my bad luck; I lost my daughter, and I request all the parents drop their girl children off at college and monitor them and ask about any difficulties or problems they are facing,” he said.
Neha was brutally killed by her classmate Fayaz within the premises of BVB College in the city on Thursday evening. Her death has caused widespread protests in the state.
Neha Hiremath was laid to rest as per the traditional rituals of the Veerashaiva Jangama community. Thousands of people gathered for her funeral.
