Surathkal: National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal celebrated a remarkable achievement as its Men’s Table Tennis team clinched the 1st position (Gold Medal) at the All India Inter NIT Sports Meet 2025–26, held at NIT Jamshedpur from 4th to 6th October 2025.
Outstanding individual performance
Mr. Dilip G., from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME), was honoured with the Best Player of the Tournament award for his exceptional performance, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
Other team performances
The Men’s Football and Women’s Table Tennis teams also delivered commendable performances, reaching the Quarter-Final stage. Though they did not advance further, their efforts were widely appreciated by faculty and peers.
NITK Surathkal congratulated all participating athletes for their dedication, sportsmanship, and exemplary representation of the institute at the national level. Officials highlighted that the achievements not only reflect individual talent but also the collective spirit and training culture at NITK.
The institute aims to continue nurturing sports along with academics, encouraging students to excel in both arenas and represent NITK with pride in future competitions.
