BALLARI/KOPPAL/KALABURAGI: The Karnataka bandh, called by Vatal Nagaraj and pro-Kannada organisations, saw minimal response in Ballari, Vijayanagara, Raichur, Koppal, and Kalaburagi districts.

In Ballari, activists from Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Shivaramegowda faction) conducted a peaceful bike rally through key city points, ending at the DC office where they submitted a petition. No major disruptions were reported in Koppal and Vijayanagara districts, though Raichur’s Osmania Wholesale Vegetable Market remained shut.

Kalaburagi witnessed negligible bandh participation, with public transport, schools, and businesses operating normally. Several Kannada organisations in Kalaburagi even opposed Vatal Nagaraj’s bandh call. Similarly, in Bidar, police ensured KKRTC buses traveling towards Maharashtra remained unaffected by providing security escorts up to the state border.

The bandh was staged to protest the alleged mistreatment of Kannadigas in Belagavi.
