Police have implemented heavy security measures in Marakumbi village of Gangavati taluk following the district court’s sentencing related to a caste conflict case between Dalits and upper castes that occurred 10 years ago.
A team of police personnel, led by Gangavati DYSP Siddalingappa Gowda Police Patil and officials from Kanakagiri Police Station, has been stationed in the village. The streets are largely deserted, with minimal public presence as a precautionary measure.
Authorities are focused on maintaining peace and order in the wake of the court’s decision.
