Bengaluru: Protection, and progress of sexual minorities, volunteers’ is a priority in our manifesto, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Presidnet D. K. Shivakumar.
He was speaking to sexual minorities, volunteers and activists here on Friday August 27. We will see that the community gets respectability, he said and asserted that Police and such other departments that allegedly torture the community should be dealt with strictly by the law. He also said that the Congress manifesto eill help the children of such community members get good education and the other members get hosuinf facilities. He asserted that he was holding the programme to lend a ear to their problems.
Shivakumar said that it does not mean that we will win if you vote for us. However, we are seeing to it that in case we come to power we have to plan programme that are beneficial to your community, he stressed.
