Family Dispute Leads to Murder in Raichur Village

A tragic incident occurred in Bommanagunda village, Raichur district, on Sunday night, where a 35-year-old man, Basavaraj Timmayya, was found murdered. Timmayya, a resident of Kalanger Doddi in Devadurg taluk, had been living with his joint family. Several years ago, the family had purchased a 3-acre agricultural plot, which was initially registered in Timmayya’s paternal uncle’s name. After his uncle’s death, the land was transferred to the uncle’s wife, but Timmayya continued to plough it, sparking a dispute between the two families.

According to Timmayya’s family, the conflict escalated on Sunday night when a confrontation erupted between Timmayya and his cousins over the land. The altercation tragically led to Timmayya’s murder. The Jalahalli police have registered a case, and Circle Police Inspector Gundurao confirmed that an investigation is underway.
