A horrific incident occurred in Julamagera village, Raichur, where a 50-year-old man allegedly fatally assaulted his daughter-in-law after she resisted his sexual advances. The 27-year-old victim, originally from Mirzapur village, had settled in Julamagera following her marriage. She had two children, a son and a daughter.
On Saturday, the accused allegedly attempted to assault her while she was alone at home. When she fought back and tried to escape, the man chased her, struck her on the head with a shovel, and fled. The victim died instantly from the severe head injury. Villagers claimed that the man had previously tried to harass his daughter-in-law on multiple occasions, but despite warnings from family members, he persisted in his actions.
The Idapanur police have registered a case and are actively searching for the accused, who remains on the run. The incident has shocked the community, and authorities are working swiftly to apprehend the perpetrator.
