- Accused: 22-year-old Darshan, an unemployed painter and alleged drug addict.
- Plan: Abduct the girl for ransom to fund his narcotics use.
- Event: The girl went missing around 8 pm. Her father, Santosh, began searching after she was last seen near a Ganesha pandal. The search intensified as more locals joined in.
- Discovery: Darshan had gagged the girl’s mouth and hands with tape and hid her in a cement godown. He abandoned her and fled as locals approached.
- Rescue: The girl was found in a suffocating condition but was rescued unharmed.
