A horrific accident on the outskirts of Bengaluru claimed the life of a police sub-inspector and left three others critically injured, including his daughter, when a KSRTC bus lost control and crashed into two motorcycles before overturning on them.
The deceased has been identified as Sub-Inspector Nagaraj, while his daughter Kavya is battling for her life in the ICU. The incident occurred on Monday in Kaggalipura, along the busy Kanakapura Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus, en route from Kanakapura to Bengaluru, jumped the median, rammed into the motorcycles, dragged them for several meters, and then flipped into a roadside drain, crushing the riders underneath.
Bystanders rushed to assist the victims as chaos unfolded at the scene. While bus passengers escaped with minor injuries, the bikers bore the brunt of the impact.
Authorities have registered a case of death due to negligence against the bus driver. Meanwhile, the three critically injured victims—including Kavya—remain under intensive care, with doctors monitoring their condition closely.
The tragic loss of a police officer and the serious injuries sustained by his daughter have sparked outrage and renewed concerns over reckless driving and public transport safety.
