The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a scheduled power cut across several parts of Bengaluru on Saturday and Sunday, 13 and 14 September. The outage will last for nearly six hours each day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is being carried out to facilitate quarterly maintenance work.

Reason for the outage

According to BESCOM, the power cut is necessary to upgrade infrastructure and carry out preventive maintenance. Officials said the planned disruption will help reduce the risk of unexpected power failures and ensure more reliable electricity supply in the long term.

In Bengaluru, the following areas will face the scheduled power cut:

  • In Tumakuru district, the affected towns and villages include:

    • Nittur

  • Gubbi

  • Bidre

  • Doddaguni

  • Kadaba

  • Kallur

  • Ungra

  • Somalapur

  • Bellavi

  • Heggere

  • Doddasarangi

  • Kor

  • Beladhara

  • Urdigara

  • Areas connected to the C.T. Kere Substation

  • Advisory for residents

    Authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to plan their activities accordingly. People have been advised to charge essential devices, store sufficient water in advance if pumps are affected, and avoid using heavy electrical appliances during the outage hours.
