Kunigal: A concerning discovery was made in Kunigal on Thursday when residents found a pile of expired medicines near the railway bridge. The medicines, mostly labelled for free distribution in government hospitals, were found to be well past their expiration date.

Upon receiving reports, the District Deputy Drug Controller, Mallikarjun Nagur, and his team promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. They took immediate steps to ensure the safe and systematic disposal of the biomedical waste, packing it into five bags for proper handling.

Local citizens and Karawe President, Manjunath, expressed their deep concern over the incident. They urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take appropriate action against those responsible for the improper handling and disposal of the medicines. They emphasised the importance of ensuring that such essential resources are distributed effectively to those in need and not wasted.
