Tumkur: In a dramatic rescue operation, the NCC Battalion camp team in Tumkur saved the life of a man who had fallen into an asphalt pit while trying to rescue sheep trapped in the same location.
It all began when seven or eight sheep fell into a pothole filled with asphalt near Mandaragiri Hill. While attempting to save the animals, one person unfortunately ended up falling into the pit himself.
The individual, identified as Kurigai, remained trapped for approximately two hours until members of the NCC camp team spotted him during their firing training session. Immediately springing into action, they swiftly extracted Kurigai from the pit and ensured his safety.
The heroic rescue was carried out by Cadets HM Tilak Raj, Mahesh, Zubed, Manoj, and Darshan. Their courageous efforts also led to the successful rescue of five sheep from the perilous situation.
Thanks to their swift response and bravery, both a man’s life and several animals were saved from danger. The quick thinking and decisive action of these NCC cadets have been widely praised for their selfless act of heroism.
