A heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday at Ranganahatti Katte in Thuruvekere, Tumkur, when three individuals drowned during the Ganapathi immersion ceremony.
Revanna (50), along with his sons Sharath (26) and Dayanand (22), residents of Ranganahatti village, were involved in the tragic accident. The family had gone to Ranganahatti to immerse the public Ganesha idol from their village.
While immersing the idol, Sharath and Dayanand waded into the water but became stuck in the mud and were unable to swim. As they cried out for help, their father Revanna jumped into the water to rescue them but also succumbed to the drowning.
