Tumkuru: A shocking murder has rattled the district , as police report that a man gruesomely killed his wife after a dispute over dinner.
Sources reveal that the accused husband, identified as Shivarama, allegedly decapitated and skinned his wife, Pushpalatha. The ghastly incident unfolded in their home in Huliyurudurga, a quiet town in Kunigal taluk, on Monday night.
According to local accounts, the couple frequently engaged in quarrels, and on that fateful night, tensions escalated when Pushpalatha did not serve him dinner. The altercation intensified as they argued about Shivarama’s employment.
In a horrifying turn of events, Shivarama allegedly stabbed his wife before brutally mutilating her body with a machete. The violence continued until the early hours of Tuesday, during which he informed his landlord of his heinous act.
Ashok Venkat, Tumkur Superintendent of Police, confirmed the grim discovery, stating, “A 35-year-old female’s body was found at the spot. Her husband was also at the spot. During questioning, he confessed to the murder.”
Describing the couple’s history, Venkat added, “Shivaram and Pushpa were married for 10 years in an intercaste marriage. They had minor fights. Yesterday they had a fight over employment issues. He killed his wife and informed his employer. They immediately informed us. We have sent the body for post-mortem.”
