District Superintendent of Police Shri Haribabu B.L. announced on Wednesday that two more individuals connected to the Jenny Milk Company have been arrested for allegedly defrauding farmers in a donkey milk scheme. The arrested are N. Harshvardhana Raju (40) from Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, and Gurram Yogananda Reddy (34), originally from Rachoti, Andhra Pradesh, but currently residing in Chamalpur Undi, Nanjangud. They were apprehended on the outskirts of Pavagada on Wednesday morning.

With these arrests, the total number of individuals in custody for this case has risen to five. The police have also frozen 33 bank accounts linked to the fraud. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the financial deception. Haribabu B.L. mentioned that the CID has requested to take over the investigation, with an order expected soon.

The case dates back to May when Jenny Milk Company began operations at PVK Plaza in Hospet. The company’s scheme involved charging farmers ₹3 lakh per unit, which included three mother donkeys, three colts, one deep-frozen donkey, and milk collection bottles. The company promised to buy the donkey milk at ₹2,350 per liter, attracting 318 customers who purchased a total of 484 units of donkeys.

However, the scheme unraveled when the municipal council shut down the company’s office for operating without a proper trade license. This action led to the disappearance of the company’s MD, manager, and supervisor. In September, a case was registered at the Pattana police station following allegations that the company had defrauded farmers of more than ₹10 crore.

The recent arrests were part of an operation conducted under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Salim Pasha and DySP T. Manjunath, led by PSI Lakhan R. Masaguppi and other officers. As the investigation continues, authorities are working to uncover the full scope of the fraud and bring all involved parties to justice.
