In a crackdown on drug smuggling, Udupi police have arrested two individuals near Narayana Nagar Road in Puttur village for possession of ganja. The accused have been identified as Mohammed Safaz (29) from Naringana village in Bantwal taluk and Charan U Bhandari (19) from Santhekatte in Puttur.

During the operation, authorities seized 740 grams of ganja worth an estimated Rs 53,300,000, along with a Honda Activa scooter, cash amounting to Rs 2,170, and two mobile phones, bringing the total assets seized to Rs 98,770. The operation was led by Sen police station inspector Ramachandra Nayak and probationary DySP Geetha Patil, with support from sub-inspectors Pawan Nayak and other staff members including Praveen Kumar, Rajesh, Venkatesh, Nilesh, Raghavendra, Prashanth, and Charan Raj.

The police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigation is underway.
