Accident Claims Driver’s Life in Kattingeri: Tipper Overturns Near Ganapanakatte

In a heart-wrenching incident early on Tuesday, February 25, a tipper lorry flipped over near Ganapanakatte turn in Kattingeri, Moodubelle, under the Belli gram panchayat, leading to the instant death of the driver.

The victim has been identified as Subramanya Acharya, aged 40, hailing from Byndoor.

The fatal crash occurred around 4 AM when the tipper, which was transporting jelly stones from Byndoor to Palli, lost control and overturned on the road. Unfortunately, Subramanya Acharya was caught under the heavy vehicle and died instantly.

Upon hearing about the accident, local members of the Belle gram panchayat, including Gururaj Bhat, Sudhakar Poojary, and Krishna Acharya, along with Shirva police officers, rushed to the scene. They coordinated with a JCB to lift the truck and recover the driver’s body. Following the retrieval, the body was taken to Ajjarkad District Hospital for postmortem.

A case has been filed at Shirva police station, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the tragic mishap.
