Gangolli police have arrested a suspect involved in the recent theft at a post office in Maravanthe village. The arrest was made following a thorough investigation aided by CCTV footage, which provided critical clues about the suspect’s location.
The arrest operation was led by PSI Harish R and Basavaraj Kanashetti, with the assistance of officers Sandeep Kurani, Raju Naik, Nagaraj, and Dinesh. They successfully apprehended the accused, Pouzan Ahmed (19), son of Mustaq Ahmed, at Jali Road Cross in Bhatkal, Uttara Kannada district, on September 3.
During interrogation, Pouzan Ahmed and a juvenile in conflict with the law confessed to committing the theft. The police seized a TVS motorcycle, with registration number KA 30 L 0097, which was used in the crime. The accused has since been presented before the court.
The investigation and swift action by the Gangolli police team have been lauded as an effective response to the crime, ensuring justice is served.
