
Adani Foundation Distributes Rs 60 Lakh in School Kits to 6800 Students
On Thursday, July 1, the Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the Adani Group, distributed school kits worth Rs 60 lakh to 6800 students across 76 government and government-aided Kannada medium schools in the Udupi region. The distribution ceremony took place at Buntara Bhavan in Padubidri, featuring a formal stage program.
The event was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by notable dignitaries including Dr. Deviprasad Shetty, President of Belapu Gram Panchayat; Shakuntala, President of Padubidri Gram Panchayat; Shivakumar Mendon, President of Bada Gram Panchayat; Mamata Diwakar Poonja, President of Balkunje Gram Panchayat; Janardhan Acharya, President of Kutyaru Gram Panchayat; Namita, President of Mudarangadi Gram Panchayat; Surekha, President of Tenka Gram Panchayat; Usha, Vice President of Yellur Gram Panchayat; Ritesh Shetty, Officer from Youth Affairs & Sports, Kaup Taluk; and Kishore Alva, President & Executive Director of Adani Group. The headmasters and headmistresses of the participating government schools were also present.
Kishore Alva highlighted that the Adani Group took over the Udupi Thermal Power Plant nine years ago and has since made annual contributions through CSR initiatives. He noted that this year’s distribution of school kits is intended to motivate students and support their educational pursuits. Alva emphasized that the foundation allocates 20% of its total budget to educational initiatives, including scholarships and infrastructure development.
Dr. Deviprasad Shetty commended Adani Group’s extensive CSR work in education, health, and rural development, while Ritesh Shetty praised the annual support provided to government schools. Shashikala, President of Padubidri Gram Panchayat, also expressed gratitude for the group’s contributions.
The school kits included notebooks, geometry boxes, bags, and umbrellas. Ravi R Jere, Associate General Manager of Adani Group, welcomed the guests, and Sudhakar Shenoy, Headmaster of Palimaru Government School, delivered the vote of thanks.
