Udupi: A powerful new Kannada educational film titled “Illanellada Bhaya, Parikshe Bhaya” has been launched to tackle the rising concern of exam-related anxiety among students — a problem increasingly linked to mental health crises, suicides, and school dropouts.

Conceptualised and directed by educationist Dr V P D’Sa from Manipal, the film highlights 20 different types of exam fears and offers 6 concrete strategies to overcome them. These include subject-based methods in mathematics and physics, scientific study techniques, psychological tools, and practical coping tactics.

To enhance impact, interactive Q&A sessions are held post-screening. These allow students to seek career advice, discuss stress management, and clarify techniques demonstrated in the film. If required, facilitators offer in-depth elaboration of study strategies featured on screen.

This initiative is designed as a motivational kickstart to the academic year, aiming to instil confidence and emotional resilience in students. A follow-up segment with technical content in English is set for release in early December.

The film is available online via the Sampoornajnana OTT platform and the Sampoornajnana mobile app, with a 12-hour viewing access. It is also being screened in private auditoriums such as the VPC Auditorium in Udupi, using large LED displays for a theatre-like experience.

During the press event, Dr V P D’Sa was joined by Ashwini Sheetal Dantis and Pradeep Gudattu, who encouraged students, parents, and teachers to embrace this innovative tool for both academic and mental empowerment.
