Byndoor: MCC Bank Ltd marked a new chapter in its growth journey with the inauguration of its 20th branch at Deepa Complex, Main Road, Byndoor on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Bank’s Chairman and recipient of the ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award, Mr Anil Lobo.
A festive launch in coastal Karnataka
The inaugural ceremony saw participation from several community leaders and distinguished guests. The new premises were blessed by Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Byndoor, who offered prayers for the branch’s success.
A notable segment of the programme included the unveiling of the Safe Room by Mr Babu Shetty, President and Managing Trustee of Shri Mookambika Temple, Kollur. Additionally, the E-Stamping Facility was launched by Rev. Fr Philip Nellivilla, Principal of St Thomas Residential School, Byndoor.
Guests of honour included Mr Raju Poojari (Ex-President, Udupi Zilla Panchayat), Mr Sadashiva D. Paduvari (Nominated Member, Town Panchayat, Byndoor), Mr Kapsi Noor Mohammed (Vice President, Shiroor Grama Panchayat), Mr Nagesh Kharvi (President, Nadadoni State Association), and Mr Mobi P.C. (President, Bar Association, Byndoor).
MCC Bank’s vision and community connect
In his presidential address, Mr Anil Lobo expressed gratitude to the local community and institutions for their support. He called upon residents to become brand ambassadors of the bank and help it reach a ₹10 crore turnover within the year. He underscored the bank’s credibility, noting that deposits are insured under DICGC and that MCC operates under RBI’s regulatory framework.
Lobo highlighted the bank’s progress since 2018, sharing that MCC has doubled its turnover under his leadership. Despite obstacles, the bank continues to thrive through teamwork and innovation. MCC now offers a full suite of services comparable to nationalised and private banks.
Applause from community leaders
Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho lauded the bank’s “customer-friendly atmosphere” and described MCC as a “Bank of the Society,” led by a visionary chairman. He expressed hope that the institution would serve all sections of society, particularly the underprivileged.
Rev. Fr Philip Nellivilla praised MCC Bank’s efficient service and foresaw further expansion in Karnataka. He shared positive personal experiences and emphasised the bank’s dedication to satisfaction.
Mr Babu Shetty thanked the bank for extending services to Byndoor and encouraged community members to back its growth. Mr Raju Poojari also offered support and encouraged the staff to uphold high standards.
Felicitation and acknowledgements
The programme included the felicitation of local students who excelled in SSLC and PUC exams. Notably, Nicola Roshni Dias of Byndoor, who cleared her CA examination in her first attempt, was honoured. Early customers of the new branch and local association leaders also received felicitation. Special thanks were extended to Mr Jagannath Shetty, owner of the premises, and Mr Karthik Kiran, Civil Engineer.
Mr Sunil Menezes, General Manager, introduced the newly appointed staff of the Byndoor branch. Mementoes were presented to the dignitaries by the Chairman.
