In celebration of Independence Day, the Canara Bank Circle Office Manipal is set to host the third edition of the ‘Canara Marathon Freedom Run 2024’ on August 15. This annual event aims to promote fitness and community spirit, featuring a range of running categories.
The marathon will include four distinct races: a 21k run, a 10k run, a 5k run, and a 3k run. All races will start from the Canara Bank Circle Office in Manipal, with the 21k run beginning at 5:30 am, followed by the 10k run at 6:00 am, the 5k run at 6:30 am, and the 3k run at 7:00 am. Public participation is encouraged, and registration is open for all interested runners.
The event will be attended by several distinguished guests, including H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE; Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA; MP Kota Srinivas Poojary; and Akshatha Poojary, a multiple medal-winning athlete. A total prize fund of Rs 5,00,000 will be distributed among the winners.
During the press meet, notable figures present included Durga Prasad, Manager of Canara Bank Circle Office Manipal; Vishal Singh, Senior Manager; Sachin Shetty, Senior Manager; Sooraj Uppur, Senior Manager; and Narasimha Moorthi, former staff member of Canara Bank.
