Udupi, Karnataka: Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar confirmed the arrest of the anonymous complainant in the Dharmasthala case, stating that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will determine the next course of action. Addressing reporters in Udupi, he emphasised that the details of the arrest and charges are within the purview of the SIT, which is continuing its investigation.
SIT investigation continues
Dr. Parameshwar stated, “The SIT knows under which section the person has been arrested. We had started the investigation based on the complainant’s statement. I can only say that he has been arrested. The anonymous complainant is currently in police custody.”
He further clarified that no information could be disclosed until the investigation concludes, as any premature revelation might hinder progress. The SIT is also probing the network allegedly linked to the case.
Other linked cases under scrutiny
The Home Minister noted that the Sujatha Bhat case is also being investigated, but findings will only be shared after official reports are finalised. He added that political statements or allegations, including those from the BJP, will not dictate the investigation’s direction.
Speaking on a separate issue regarding Harish Poonja’s statement in 2023, Dr. Parameshwar said that Poonja has already obtained a stay order. “Action can be taken if the stay order is lifted,” he remarked.
Conclusion
The Dharmasthala case continues to draw public attention as the SIT works to uncover the facts and determine the network behind the allegations. Updates are expected once the investigation reaches a conclusive stage.
