The district administration has taken decisive action to address safety concerns related to private buses and school vehicles. Observations revealed that many of these vehicles are overloaded with passengers and are being driven at speeds beyond the legal limits, increasing the risk of accidents. In response, District Commissioner Dr. K. Vidyakumari has issued stringent guidelines to private bus operators and school principals.

The new guidelines require that all buses must possess a valid fitness certificate and insurance certificate, and they must not emit smoke exceeding permissible levels. To prevent overloading, buses should only carry passengers up to the registered seating capacity. Speed limits must be strictly adhered to, ensuring that buses do not exceed the maximum speed limits set for their operation.

Additionally, the guidelines mandate that only experienced drivers be appointed to operate these buses. Strict adherence to road safety rules is also required to enhance overall safety.

Dr. Vidyakumari’s announcement underscores the critical importance of complying with these regulations to safeguard the well-being of students and passengers. By enforcing these measures, the district administration aims to prevent accidents and ensure a safer travel experience for all commuters.
