Fake NEET Scorecard Scam Shocks Udupi; Student Exposed After Claiming Top Rank
Udupi: A startling case of academic deceit has come to light in Udupi, where a student allegedly forged a NEET 2025 scorecard to falsely claim a top district and state rank. The student claimed to have scored 646 marks with an All-India Rank (AIR) of 107, sparking admiration and media attention. However, classmates who grew skeptical verified the claim, revealing the truth — the actual score was only 65, with an AIR of 17,62,258.
Initial findings suggest the student may have conspired with his parents and a local college to fabricate the result for promotional gain. The forgery was riddled with errors: mismatched fonts, incorrect exam year, a fake designation (“Senior Director”), altered Government of India logo, and a one-page mark sheet unlike the official two-page format. The fake AIR belonged to a student from Delhi, and the release date — a standard element on real NEET results — was missing.
The controversy has triggered widespread anger. Authorities stress that NEET ranks are unique and non-shareable, making such forgeries both a serious crime and an insult to genuine aspirants. Social media posts also falsely promoted a coaching center that doesn’t exist.
Officials are now being urged to launch a full-fledged probe involving the NTA, local police, and the education department. The incident has also raised red flags about a possible network behind such fraudulent activities.
