Udupi: A sudden blaze near the Karavali Bypass along National Highway 66 triggered a brief moment of tension in the area. The fire erupted unexpectedly on a vacant private plot adjacent to the highway, where dry grass and accumulated waste fueled the flames.
Alerted by the rising smoke, local residents and the Udupi Fire and Emergency Services team swiftly arrived at the scene. Due to an insufficient water supply, private tankers were deployed to assist in bringing the fire under control.
The fire broke out dangerously close to a scrap shop and a private hotel, raising fears of extensive damage. Fortunately, quick action prevented the flames from spreading further, averting potential losses.
