A 35-year-old man, identified as Muthu, was taken into custody for allegedly harming a 5-year-old girl in Udupi. The case was filed under the POCSO Act at the Udupi Women’s Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation.
When the accused’s whereabouts were initially unknown, the police formed five special teams to locate him. Officers carefully reviewed surveillance footage and sought assistance from local residents. These efforts led to Muthu’s arrest near Vadiraj 3rd Cross, close to Krishna Math.
Originally from Sulebavi village in Bagalkot district, Muthu is reported to be without a fixed address in Udupi. His transient nature posed challenges to the investigation, but with public cooperation, authorities successfully apprehended him.
