
Hiriyadaka Police Apprehend Extortion Suspect After 18-Year Manhunt

In a significant breakthrough, the Hiriyadaka police have successfully apprehended a suspect who had been evading authorities for 18 years in connection with an extortion case.
The accused, identified as Suresh Purush (45), a resident of Karkala, was wanted in relation to an extortion case registered at the Hiriyadaka police station. The arrest marks the culmination of a long-standing manhunt that spanned nearly two decades.
A team led by Hiriyadaka Sub-Inspector Manjunath Marabada, including police personnel Gururaj, Dayanand Prabhu, and Krishna Pujari, conducted the operation that led to Purush’s capture.
Following his arrest, the accused was promptly produced before a court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.
