Karkala police have apprehended a 24-year-old man from Byndoor for allegedly breaking into schools and colleges and stealing valuables, including cash. Authorities have recovered stolen goods worth ₹3 lakh from the accused.

Accused Nabbed Near Nitte

The arrested individual, identified as Archith Avinash Dodre, was taken into custody by a team led by Karkala Circle Inspector D.R. Manjappa on March 20 near St. Lawrence High School, Nitte. Following his arrest, a jurisdictional court remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.

Confession and Crimes

Police revealed that Dodre confessed to multiple burglary cases, including:

  • Stealing ₹1.5 lakh cash and three DVRs from St. Joseph English Medium School, Belman.

  • Looting ₹60,000 cash and CCTV cameras from St. Mara Gorati English Medium School, Hirgana.

  • Breaking open a cupboard and vandalizing property at Government HPS, Nandalike.

  • Seized Items & Investigation

    Authorities recovered a car and tools used in the thefts. The police team involved in the operation included PSI Shivakumar, officers Ranjith, Shivanand, Chandrashekhar, Satish, and Pradeep from various Karkala and Ajekar police units.
