UdupiTwelve passengers sustained injuries when a KSRTC bus collided with a toll gate pole near the Sasthan toll gate in Kota early Saturday morning. The accident occurred at around 4:45 AM, when the bus, travelling from Ilkal to Mangaluru, veered off course after the driver reportedly lost control.

Injuries and Immediate Medical Response

The bus was carrying 36 passengers, of whom 12 suffered injuries, including one woman who is reported to be in a critical condition. Prompt medical assistance was provided by the Kota Jeevan Mitra Ambulance service, operated by Nagaraj Puthran, along with the toll gate ambulance team.

All injured passengers were transported to a private hospital in Brahmavara for treatment.

Police Action and Investigation

Upon being alerted, Kota police arrived at the accident site to assess the situation and carry out necessary procedures. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the cause of the mishap. Authorities are examining whether mechanical failure or human error contributed to the crash.
