On Friday night, a leopard was spotted on the verandah of a house in Perampalli near Manipal, causing panic among locals. The residents were alerted to the presence of the big cat by their dog’s frantic barking.

The family, exercising caution, did not open the door. Once the barking ceased, they reviewed their CCTV footage and were shocked to see the leopard roaming around their property. The footage shows the leopard arriving around 11:15 pm. The dog, upon noticing the predator, began barking loudly, which prompted the leopard to chase it.

This sighting is part of a series of leopard sightings reported in Manipal, Perampalli, and surrounding areas at night. Residents are increasingly concerned for their safety and the safety of their pets. Local authorities have been informed and are monitoring the situation, advising residents to remain vigilant and avoid venturing out at night.

Efforts are underway to locate and safely relocate the leopard to prevent further panic and potential danger to the community.
