Udupi, Yermal: MCC Bank Ltd organised a prestigious programme titled “Imprints and Impressions” at Peninsula Del Mar, Yermal, on May 28, 2026, bringing together bishops, clergy, directors, branch managers, chartered accountants, dignitaries, and guests from various walks of life for an evening celebrating leadership, community service, and institutional growth.
The programme was presided over by Sahakara Ratna Shri Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank.

The Chief Guests for the event were Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza and Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.
Renowned NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Mr. Michael D’Souza was also present on the occasion.
Chairman highlights MCC Bank’s growth in Udupi region
Welcoming the gathering, Chairman Shri Anil Lobo extended greetings to the dignitaries, especially the newly appointed Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza, and Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.
He fondly recalled his long association with the Church and appreciated the contribution of bishops and clergy in guiding society through spiritual leadership and selfless service.
The Chairman also acknowledged the efforts of the Directors, top management, and branch managers in strengthening the growth and vision of MCC Bank.
Highlighting the bank’s expansion in the Udupi region, Mr. Lobo stated that representation from the region on the Board of Directors had increased from one director in earlier years to three directors presently, including Vice Chairman Mr. Jerald Jude Silva.
He further noted that under the current management, the number of MCC Bank branches in the Udupi Diocese had increased from four to eight, while announcing that a new branch would soon be inaugurated at Katapady.
According to him, the growth and expansion of MCC Bank were made possible through the support, encouragement, and blessings of bishops, clergy, customers, and well-wishers.
Bishops felicitated during the programme
One of the major highlights of the evening was the grand felicitation accorded to Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza on his appointment as Bishop of Udupi Diocese.

The gathering also felicitated Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo in recognition of his spiritual leadership and immense contribution towards society and the Diocese.

The Chairman also appreciated the support extended by Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza during his earlier pastoral assignments and acknowledged his commitment towards community welfare and institution-building.
Referring to Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Chairman recalled his guidance in formulating MCC Bank’s Vision, Mission, and Objectives, which continue to guide the institution’s growth and service initiatives.
He also paid tribute to NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Mr. Michael D’Souza for his continued support and encouragement towards the bank and its community-oriented activities.
Bishop emphasises service and social responsibility
Addressing the gathering, Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza expressed appreciation to MCC Bank for organising the programme and commended the institution’s commitment towards community welfare and social responsibility.
He highlighted the guiding principles of “Service not Self”, “Trust not Transactions”, and “Person not Profit”, stating that institutions can achieve meaningful growth only when they remain rooted in such values.
The Bishop also shared his vision for the Diocese, which includes establishing the Bishop’s Secretariat, promoting priestly and religious vocations, strengthening educational institutions, and establishing a hospital dedicated to serving the poor and underprivileged.
He additionally stressed the importance of responsibly using modern technology and Artificial Intelligence for the welfare and upliftment of humanity.
Assuring the Diocese’s continued support and blessings for MCC Bank, he encouraged the institution to continue serving society with commitment and integrity.
Bishop Emeritus praises bank’s social commitment
In his address, Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo thanked MCC Bank for organising a meaningful and community-focused programme.
He observed that after “Mother, Mother Tongue, and Motherland,” MCC Bank had become an institution emotionally connected with the people.
He emphasised the importance of vision and mission in building successful institutions and stated that MCC Bank’s achievements reflected its commitment towards society and clarity of purpose.
The Bishop Emeritus also encouraged everyone to collectively work for the welfare of the poor and underprivileged.
Referring to the current year as a year dedicated to the poor, he urged people to contribute towards charitable and social welfare initiatives.
He further informed the gathering that, after discussions with auditors, parishes in the Diocese had been instructed to maintain their accounts with MCC Bank and encouraged the faithful to support the institution.
Michael D’Souza highlights importance of trust
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Michael D’Souza stressed the importance of trust and strong customer relationships in the banking sector.
He remarked that customers themselves should become ambassadors of institutions and appreciated the remarkable progress achieved by MCC Bank since 2018.
Congratulating the Chairman, Directors, management, and staff, he expressed confidence that the bank would continue achieving greater growth in deposits, advances, and overall business performance in the coming years.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by bank staff members.
