In a shocking incident on Nagoor-Uppalli Road in Kirimanjeshwara village, a mini truck carrying soil overturned on Wednesday after the driver lost control, spilling soil onto a woman riding a scooter in the opposite lane.
The woman, identified as Aarthi Shetty, became trapped under the soil from the overturned truck. The vehicle was en route from Herur to Nagoor when the driver lost control at a bend, resulting in the accident. Aarthi was traveling from Nagoor to Nujadi when the soil fell onto her.
Fortunately, Aarthi managed to swerve her scooter to the left, narrowly avoiding a more severe injury. Witness Kodi Ashok Poojary, who observed the incident from another vehicle, quickly came to her aid, moving soil away from her and lifting her face to ensure she could breathe. Local residents, including Chandrasheel Shetty and several auto-rickshaw drivers, soon arrived to assist in rescuing both Aarthi and the trapped driver, transporting them to the hospital for treatment.
Aarthi sustained injuries and is currently undergoing medical care. The Byndoor police are investigating the incident.
