Udupi:  MLA Yashpal Suvarna has urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to set up a Startup Accelerator in Udupi to fuel the region’s entrepreneurial growth.

In a memorandum, Suvarna highlighted Udupi’s robust educational base, with multiple engineering, degree, and medical colleges, and said a dedicated accelerator would enhance the impact of existing incubation centres. He proposed collaborating with TiE Mangaluru, which already supports over 60 startups with mentorship and funding.

Citing the success of homegrown tech firms like Robosoft Technologies and Niveus Solutions, Suvarna stressed the district’s potential to emerge as a startup hub. MP Kota Srinivas Poojary and BJP district president Naveen Shetty Kutyaru accompanied him during the submission.
