Udupi: The launch of Dr. Eugene D’Souza Moodubelle’s latest Konkani book ‘Mog Anim Balidan’ (Love and Sacrifice) was held at the Kakkunje Anugraha Palana Kendra in a joint initiative by the Udupi Diocese’s Social Media Commission and BelleVision.com.
Presiding over the event, Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, emphasized the importance of nurturing young Konkani writers to preserve and expand the language. “Udupi has always supported Konkani, and initiatives like the Vision Konkani Institute are helping keep the spirit alive,” he noted. He encouraged emerging talent to take up writing in Konkani and contribute to its cultural revival.
Michael D’Souza, founder of Vision Konkani, addressed the gathering as chief guest, stressing the importance of family in language preservation. “Never forget your roots—your parents, your hometown, and your mother tongue. Language begins at home,” he remarked.
The event also featured the poster unveiling of a three-day Konkani film exhibition organized by Panandhak Konkani Sangathan, Udyavara, adding a creative dimension to the literary celebration.
Dr. Eugene D’Souza was felicitated in recognition of his contribution to Konkani literature. Prominent personalities including Elias D’Souza, promoter of BelleVision.com, and HM Pernal, editor of Kital Internet Media, were present.
