A devastating head-on crash between a motorcycle and a scooter near Ajjarkad fire station on Monday night led to the death of 59-year-old Samuel Sadananda Karkada, a local resident who had just returned from abroad.
The impact of the collision threw Karkada onto the road, resulting in fatal injuries. His wife, Smitha Karkada, sustained severe wounds and is undergoing treatment. The motorcyclist was also critically injured and has been hospitalized.
Both vehicles suffered total damage. Authorities have registered a case at Udupi traffic police station, and investigations are underway.
