Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner Noor Zahara Khanam has filed a police complaint against two individuals for allegedly threatening her life and spreading defamatory content on social media.
The complaint, registered at Urwa police station on March 29, names Wahab and Sabith as the accused. The threats reportedly began after Khanam enforced restrictions on middlemen meddling in single-site approvals and official procedures.
Tensions escalated following a January 7 incident where an individual allegedly trespassed into the MUDA office and tampered with official documents. Soon after, the accused are said to have created a WhatsApp group, using it to circulate defamatory messages against Khanam between January 7 and March 27.
Urwa Police have launched an investigation and assured that appropriate legal action will follow based on their findings.
