Udupi: Thombattu Lakshmi, a naxal operative from Thombattu village in Kundapur, is expected to surrender to authorities on Sunday, February 2, either in Udupi or Chikkamagaluru.
Lakshmi, who has been involved in naxal activities for several years, is facing three criminal cases, with registrations at the Amasebail and Shankaranarayana police stations.
Sources reveal that Lakshmi had been living in Andhra Pradesh with her husband, a former naxal operative who has since integrated back into society. While Lakshmi participated in naxal operations, she is not considered as notorious as other operatives like Mundagaru Lata or Vikram Gowda.
Top officials suggest that the surrender is most likely to take place in Udupi.
