Residents of Uma-Maheshwara Nagar, specifically in the Saralebettu area, are facing a critical safety concern due to the negligence of officials from the Manipal subdivision of Mescom. The issue revolves around electrical poles and wires on the 4th and 5th crossroads being completely obscured by overgrown plants and vines, rendering them invisible and hazardous.
The locality, known for its dense population including students and professionals, sees daily foot traffic along these roads. Concerned locals have expressed fear over the potential dangers posed by hidden live electrical wires, making walking along the roadsides risky.
Prathvi, a resident, voiced his frustration to Daijiworld, criticizing Mescom officials for their negligence. Despite multiple complaints, no action has been taken to clear the vegetation from the electrical infrastructure. Mescom officials have attributed the delay to a shortage of labor, which residents find unacceptable given the imminent safety risks.
Residents have appealed urgently for Mescom to address this issue to safeguard the community from potential accidents and electrical hazards. Immediate action is necessary to restore visibility and ensure the safety of pedestrians and residents in Uma-Maheshwara Nagar.
