Udupi: The Udupi Women’s Police Station busted a prostitution racket operating from a hotel in the city, arresting one suspect and rescuing a woman who had been lured under false pretences.

Raid conducted at Summer Park Hotel

Acting on a specific tip-off, police raided room number 308 of Summer Park Hotel. The accused, identified as Sharath alias Mohammed Fayaz, allegedly called the victim to Udupi on August 19 under the guise of offering her work and then coerced her into illegal activities for profit.

Victim rescued, case registered

Police questioned the woman during the raid and subsequently rescued her from the premises. A case has been registered against Fayaz, who was taken into custody for further investigation.

Investigation continues

Authorities are probing whether additional individuals were involved in the operation and if similar rackets are being run in the region.
