Robbers break into vegetable shop, steal cash from charity donation box

Melkar: A burglary occurred at Chandrika Vegetable Shop on the night of Friday, January 31, when miscreants broke in and stole cash.

The burglars broke the lock of the shop, owned by Mohammad Sharif, and searched for money. Sharif, a social service worker, had placed a donation box in the shop to support a government school’s development.

The thieves made off with the Rs 5,000 that had been collected in the box. CCTV footage is said to have captured the incident.
